General Information And FAQ

This Event is Open to all Active & Retired Sworn Law Enforcement and Fire Personnel

History:
LAPRAAC is proud to present the 2023 LAPRAAC Winter Games. Although this is only the fourth year that LAPRAAC is presenting this event, these Police and Fire ski and snowboard races have been held at Mammoth Mountain for over 40 years.  They started out as the California Fire/Police Winter Olympics, then became The World Police and Fire Winter Games and now proudly, The LAPRAAC Winter Games.  The name has changed, but the same world class ski racing blue print at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area has not.  Our goal has been to provide a sustainable and affordable event throughout the years for both police and fire personnel to come together for several days of competition and camaraderie.

General Information:
We will allow for adult guests of police and fire personnel to race on a case per case basis.  For any questions concerning our guest racer policy or any other information, please contact retired LAPD Officer Mike Braun at lapdski@verizon.net or at (661) 857-9346.

Training days:
The LAPRAAC is inviting any police and fire personnel that are skiers and snowboarders who have registered to participate in the Winter Games to attend two Training days held at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area.  The pre-event training days are included in your Winter Games entry fee. The training days are designed for both experienced racers and those new to the sport, to show you how fun ski and snowboard racing really is. Each session is approximately two hours in length with coaching, private race courses and a daily discounted lift ticket available to those without an Ikon Pass. These Training days will take place on the following Mondays: 12/05/22 & 1/09/23.
