Games Week
We have changed up the Winter Games format for 2023 with a balance of serious competition, mixed with some fun challenges and a lot of “Bang for the Buck.” We will feature a good mix of both slalom and GS racing for both skiers and snowboarders during three days of competition, with an optional free-ski day on Thursday. This a great way to end the week and explore Mammoth Mountain with friends.
Sunday 2/26/23, 6:00pm – 8:00pm – Check-in, upstairs at the Mammoth Brewing Company. Bib distribution, event updates, schedule, race groups and social gathering.
Monday 2/27/23, 9:00am – 11:00am – “Ralphies Run”, NASTAR GS type courses for both skiers and snowboarders. Take as many timed runs as you like with coaching. Competition for fastest skiers and snowboarders for both men and women, and “Match your Time” challenge with prizes for all winners.
5:00pm – 8:00pm – Social gathering and prizes for GS challenges, Mammoth Brewing Company.
Tuesday 2/28/23, 9:00am – 9:30am, GS course inspection for both skiers and snowboarders on “Fascination.” This will be the real deal GS race, so bring your fastest skis or board, and skiers …wear that speed suit if you got one!
9:45am – Noon – GS race for both skiers and snowboarders. This will be the best of two runs to post against the other racers in your group. Medals issued for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each race group.
5:00pm – 8:00pm – Awards for GS race, location TBD.
Wednesday 3/1/23 – 9:00am – 11:00am – “Ralphies Run”, Timed SL courses set up for both skiers and snowboarders. Snowboarders will have a “Stubbie” course and skiers will have a real slalom course. There will also be coaching for both and take as many runs as you want in the two-hour period. Ralphies is a very user-friendly run, so no need to be intimidated. Once again, we will give away some prizes for various challenge and the grand prize (TBD) for best “Retro Ski Outfit”, determined by a panel of judges.
11:30 ish – 1:00pm – Social gathering, awards and Lunch on your own at the “Yodeler” (Hillside). On the sundeck weather permitting.
Thursday 3/2/23 – Free-ski day, no organized events and last day for purchasing discounted lift tickets. Have an open day to explore Mammoth Mountain with friends.
